Little Heartbreaker

As promised, I am sharing a few new photos of the "Silent Night" baby, Riley. Some of you may remember the photo that I shared of Riley sleeping in his birthday suit around Christmas time. Well, he came back for his 6 months portraits and, if possible, he was even more adorable! I think he will definitely be a little heartbreaker one day! His mom is always great about letting me try out my ideas and also bringing ideas of her own. Riley wasn't very into smiling for me or anyone else who tried to coax a smile, but I love many of his portraits. One thing that did make him smile was my girls NC State Toughie wolf that plays the fight song (remember, his parents are big Wolfpack fans too!). He must have known something was in the air that day, because right after his photo shoot Tory and I headed down to Raleigh to watch the Pack beat the Heels at the RBC center! (We won't discuss any of their games since that one :) So from Riley and myself: Go Pack and Happy Valentine's Day!

And The Display Winner Is...

Good morning, everyone! Thank you to everyone who sent pictures of their photos displays in their home. They were all lovely, but I could only chose one for the free session. The winner is:

This display belongs to Kathy Byerly. I did portraits last fall of her children and grandchildren and she created this display in her home featuring 3 storyboards and 4 8x10s. Isn't is lovely! I know the picture itself is a little blurry, but you get the idea. Here are a few of the other lovely display pictures:

This is a lovely display of Lisa's family.

This is an 8x8 square picture all matted and framed at the Cavanaugh household.

Also at the Cavanaugh home is this lovely collection of three wrapped canvas prints. Gorgeous girls!

And finally, here are Denise's lovely girls displayed in her home.

Thanks again to everyone who submitted photos! And congratulations to Kathy on her free session. I hope she has more empty walls to fill in her home!

I will updating the blog again soon with some adorable portraits of little Riley. He is the "silent night" baby who has been on the blog before, so be on the lookout to see how he's grown!

February Contest

Hi everyone. Just for fun, I am going to be trying out monthly contests on my blog. This month's contest will involve showing us how you've displayed prints, storyboards, etc that you have purchased from our sessions. Here is a new display I have started at our house:

I purchased the monogram from a website called wonderfulgraffiti.com. It's a neat site where you can purchase all kind of quotes and words for your walls. I then added a few of my favorite photos of the Wagoner clan. There is still plenty of room for adding more so I'm sure I will as I get more shots that I love in black and white. This display is above the couch in our formal living room, if you can call anything "formal" in our house! So, back to the contest. To enter, just take a picture of a display in your home that includes at least one photo taken by "me". Then email me the photo. I will add them to the blog as they come in until next Friday, February 9th. Then I will choose one winner for "best display" and that person will receive a free session including the printed proofs! So get those cameras out and let see some of your photos for a change.

I also wanted to show you all my new photo handbag. I finally got a photo of my girls together that I loved enough to have forever "baked" onto a purse. I just got it in this week and it is too beautiful for words! These photos don't do it justice as the picture on the purse is just so crisp and clear, but I wanted to show it off anyway:

And finally, I have been getting quite a few requests for gift certificates lately, so I thought I would let all of my clients know that they are available. You can purchase them in any dollar amount starting at $40.00 and I will give you a custom photo gift certificate to present to the recipient. It takes me a few days to order the certificate so be sure to allow enough time for it to come in if you decide to purchase one. Here is an example of how they look:

Don't forget, you have until next Friday to show me how you've displayed my photography work in your home. Someone is going to win a free session and it could be you!
