Introducing....Stella

As you know if you receive the email updates, little Stella Ruth Wagoner made her appearance into the world on Monday, June 18th. Yesterday I was able to get her down in the studio for her first "official" photos. Her big sisters joined her for a few as well (can we say chaos!). I always encourage clients with newborns to book their sessions before the little one is two weeks old. Newborns curl up best during that time period and you get those wonderful newborn shots that show how tiny they truly are. Since Stella is only 3 days old in these photos, she demonstrates really well how curled up they can be! So without further ado, here is Stella Ruth:

Experimenting

With all of my sessions complete until after the baby, I have no proofing to fill my evening hours after the children are asleep! So I have been pushing myself to experiment and try out new editing techniques. It always fun to keep learning and trying new stuff, so I thought I would share a few with you all.

Here is the original photo of sweet and chubby Riley:

And here it is with a vintage look:

Here is a photo of a young couple:

And here it is with a look called "urban acid." I think this works well for young, hip clients like seniors:

Here is a photo as the sun was going down at Tanglewood:

And here it is with a look call "midnight sepia." I like the way it give the photo a lovely glow:

And finally here is a photo from one of my most recent sessions:

And here is the photo with a vignette added. A vignette draws attention to the subject by slightly darkening the outer edges of the photo:

Thanks for taking a look at my experimenting. Leave a comment and let me know if you like any of them! Soon I will probably post a contest to see who can predict when baby Stella will make her grand appearance...and of course there will be some sort of freebie for the winner! Also, I am continuing to book sessions for September 1st and later, so call or email me if you'd like a spot on the calendar.

Passing on the Savings

Hi everyone. Well, I haven't had any sessions this week and I miss them already, although I am still busy taking orders and creating collages for folks. The professional lab I use for printing is having a sale on gallery-wrapped canvas prints so I thought I would pass along the savings to you! From now until June 14th all gallery-wrapped canvases 16x20 or larger will be $20.00 off...meaning the 16x20 canvas size will be only $120.00 while on sale. In case you haven't seen a gallery-wrapped canvas before, I have included some photos of one that I have hanging in my home.

This is a 16x20 gallery-wrapped canvas of Grace:

Here is a close-up of the face so you can see the texture:

The back of the gallery-wrapped canvases are finished with a paper backing.

They come with hardware attached that makes them ready to hang on the wall unframed.

The photo is printed on a textured artist canvas and then wrapped around a stretcher frame. The frame for the gallery-wrapped canvases is 1 and 1/8 of an inch deep. These prints really are stunning to see in person! So if you have a photo from a previous session that you just love, why not get a canvas during the sale! Just call or email with your order by June 14th.
