Love is in the Air

So, it was Valentine's photo shoot day at the Wagoner household today. Of course, my girls do not usually enjoy having the portraits taken--couldn't have anything to do with the fact that the camera is always in their face could it! Even my husband hates when I take "official" portraits of the girls. His response when I tell him we need to do their photos is always something like "No, please...I'll clean the house, go shopping, anything but that!" But, alas, occasionally it MUST be done. And things went surprisingly well today, if I do say so myself! There were no tears (not even from my husband) and I am pleased with the results. Even the dogs got in on the action today and had their Valentine's portraits made! So to get you in the mood for Valentine's (and to remind those guys out there that it's coming up pretty soon!), here are a few from today.

Third Time's a Charm

So, my sister and I are both pregnant with our third child...only she is due in March. She and her family came over yesterday so I could do her maternity portraits. I was excited because she was up for anything when it came to the portraits and she looks so fabulous with this pregnancy. Seriously, I'm her little sister so I can say this, but she is looking so much more beautiful with this pregnancy than with the others (not that she isn't always beautiful anyway)! She has two boys so we are thinking that maybe this time it's a girl. They chose not to find out, so we'll have to wait until March to see if we're right. I can hardly wait!

Bigs and Littles

So what could be better than starting off the new year with a newborn! Meet Connor, a sweet little four week old. I had the pleasure of taking Connor's newborn portraits this week and, although newborn sessions are long and always unpredictable, the results are always so rewarding! Unlike most newborns, Connor wasn't too interested in sleeping for me, but he did seem to like looking at my camera! It was neat to get some newborn shots with "eye-contact." Connor's mom even had me design birth announcements for him, which I really enjoyed. I won't share them here though since they haven't been sent yet and I don't want to spoil the surprise for family and friends!

And this is how little Connor was really happiest!

So Connor is the "littles" from the blog title and my Jan./Feb. special is the "bigs." To encourage "thinking big" for the new year, I am offering a special on large prints and canvases. All prints 16x20 or larger and all 16x20 gallery-wrapped canvas will be 25% off until February 20th. This includes photos from new sessions and reorders from previous sessions. So if you have a photo that you just love--why not "go big!" Email me if you are interested: jtwagoner@alltel.net

And The Winner Is.......

.....Booties on the Belly ! Thanks so much to everyone who voted! That belly belongs to Joanne and she will receive a free 2007 session including the 4x6 printed proofs! Thanks also to the subjects of all my other favorites. Obviously, I love them all (and many others that weren't on the list) for a variety of reasons and I thank you all for allowing me to capture your beauty.

In other big news, I'll be getting the opportunity to capture photos of my own newborn this summer! That's right, we are expecting our third child, due in July. Now that we are all getting used to the idea (it was a bit of a surprise!) we are all excited about our upcoming adventures as a family of five. I plan on continuing photo sessions as long as my big 'ol belly will allow, but I will eventually be unable to maneuver into the needed positions. If you've had a session then you know what I mean because you've seen me standing on stools, laying on my belly, or whatever else is needed to get the angle I'm wanting! Barring unforeseen circumstances, I plan to continue sessions through the end of May. I will then take the summer off and start sessions again when school starts back at the end of August. So plan ahead and make those appointments before it's too late!

And finally, I couldn't post on the blog without adding a photo, so here are a couple new ones of my Claire Bear. I wanted to try a new basket I bought to use for a Valentine's Day prop, but Claire wasn't having it--that is until I brought out the huge sucker. Bribery at its best!
