Snips and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails

Snips and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails...that's what my recent sessions have been made of! I am back to doing sessions now and I have had a string of adorable little boys the last couple of weeks.
Here's precious newborn Cooper:

Adorable, nine-month-old Joshua:

Cutie-patootie, one-year-old Riley:

And handsome three-year-old Cole:

So even if my house is all about the Barbies and Princesses, I can still get my fill of little boy stuff during my photography sessions! By the way, if you are interested in an October session (which is usually the best month for fall color) please email me as soon as possible to be sure you get a spot on the calendar.

Portrait Plans

I am excited to introduce a couple of portrait plans to all of you! Portraits plans are a grouping of sessions that you pay for in a lump sum and in return you save money. My new portraits plans are as follows:

The Bellies & Babies Plan--$100.00
This plan includes a maternity session with proofs and a newborn session with proofs. In addition you will receive an 8x10 from each session and 25% off birth announcements. Of course, additional prints and custom items may be purchased at regular prices. The $100.00 amount is due at the maternity session.

Here are a couple examples of birth announcements. Each announcement is custom designed just for you and your baby!

The Here I Grow Plan--$200.00
This plan includes four sessions during baby's first year (3 months, 6 months, 9 months, and 12 months). It includes proofs from all sessions. You will also receive an 8x10 from each session and a "Here I Grow" storyboard with a photo from each session after all sessions are completed. Additional prints and custom items may be purchased at regular prices. For this plan, $100.00 is due at the 3 month session and the remaining $100 is due at the nine month session.

Here is an example of a "Here I Grow" storyboard, featuring my favorite little wild man Riley.

(You can click on any of the images in the blog to see them larger.)

If you are interested in a portrait plan, just give me call or send an email. If you know someone who is expecting or has a new baby, be sure to pass this information along to them!

And on a totally unrelated note, here is what little Stella is doing now:

In case you can't tell, that is a real smile on her cute little face (not those gassy newborn sleeping smiles, but a genuine gummy baby smile). Doesn't that just make you smile too?

Happy Birthday!

Some of the first babies I photographed are celebrating their first birthdays! I feel blessed to have captured the memories of their first year, watching them grow and change so much. I also look forward to capturing the memories that are to come for these special cuties. Last week I had the pleasure of taking Keira's first birthday portraits. I first took photos of Keira when she was just three days old! Here she is from last August:

And here is Keira from this August as she turns one:

Happy 1st Birthday, Keira! I look forward to watching you grow and celebrate many more birthdays.

One Month Old

Miss Stella is now a month old...my how time flies! I don't get to photograph her nearly as much as I would like. It takes two hands to hold that big 'ol camera and with a 6 year old, a 2 year old, and a newborn I rarely ever have two hands free! So yesterday we headed down to the basement studio on a mission to get a few one month shots of Stella. She's growing so much and weighs over 8 pounds now. She is also starting to wake up a bit more so we were able to get some shots of her "with her eyes up" ( as Claire calls it). Here is Stella at one month:

Here is an example of why newborn sessions should be in the first two weeks if you want those beautiful curled up newborn shots. Stella is five weeks old and already "stretching out." I kept tucking her feet under for this shot but she just kept on stretching them out.

And finally, here is what Stella thinks of the whole experience--what a bore!

Don't worry, this hasn't turned into a family blog--I can't wait to start sharing some session photos soon! If you need a September appointment, please email me. Also, some people are scheduling fall appointments and even holiday sessions to be sure they get the dates they would like, so feel free to contact me if you'd like to book something between now and the end of the year. Finally, I am working on a new website, so I can't wait to share it with everyone when it's finished!

Sometime's You Get What You Asked For...And More

As I'm sure many of you remember, my sister and brother-in-law welcomed sweet baby Paige into their family in March. After two boys, my sister was very much wishing for a girl and boy did her wish come true! Paige has turned out to be a definite girly girl--full of beauty and also full of drama. She is quite the diva--as she proved yesterday at her three-month photo session. She is also one of the most stunning babies I've ever seen so I hope I was able to capture her beauty in these shots! Paige turned three months a couple of days after Stella was born so we had to work in her 3 month session before she was no longer three months old. My two older girls went to bible school with their grandparents, so we just brought Stella down to the studio in her bouncy seat. She slept right through the session, thankfully! Here are a few of my favorites of our family's beautiful little drama queen--Paige Elizabeth:

Growing and Changing

Two weeks--that's how long I went without using the "big camera" before I started having withdrawals! So I had to get some new shots of the girls and get some practice in for me. The girls are just growing and changing everyday--all three of them. Grace lost her first tooth on Friday. It has been loose for a while and her new tooth was already coming in behind it. If you know Grace, you know she was never going to actually pull that tooth or let us pull it, so my husband came up with quite a plan. He tied a string to her tooth and tied the other end to Claire's belt loop. Then he put them both at the top of our slide and sent Claire down. The tooth popped right out! I still can't believe Grace let him do it. Here are a couple of pictures of her with her new "space."

Claire is growing and changing too. I'd love to say this growth involved potty training, but she seems to have no interest in that whatsoever yet! Instead she has learned to sing her ABCs (okay, so the LMNOP part is a little sketchy)! It is so totally adorable. She has also become my best little model for the camera--I think mostly because she doesn't want baby Stella to get all the camera time. Here are a couple of new ones of Claire. The black and white one shows her new little "camera pose". I think we have a future supermodel on our hands!

And, of course, little Stella is growing and changing as well. She is three weeks old today! Everyone keeps asking who she looks like, but we really can't figure it out. She has her own unique look about her. She still sleeps most of the time but she is growing and gaining weight like crazy. So far, she is definitely our most laid back baby--just taking it all in when she's awake and along for the ride the rest of the time! I did manage to get some shots of her awake the other night after her bath--here she is:

I hope everyone is enjoying a great summer and I look forward so seeing many of you again as I start fall sessions!

Introducing....Stella

As you know if you receive the email updates, little Stella Ruth Wagoner made her appearance into the world on Monday, June 18th. Yesterday I was able to get her down in the studio for her first "official" photos. Her big sisters joined her for a few as well (can we say chaos!). I always encourage clients with newborns to book their sessions before the little one is two weeks old. Newborns curl up best during that time period and you get those wonderful newborn shots that show how tiny they truly are. Since Stella is only 3 days old in these photos, she demonstrates really well how curled up they can be! So without further ado, here is Stella Ruth:
