Boy Oh Boy!

Today I had a studio session with an adorable family that has two boys. I have photographed Matthew, the three year old, before so you may recognize him from my website. This was my first chance to photograph his new little brother, seven-week-old Davis. By the end of the session, I'm sure their mother was tired of me telling her how lucky she is. Seriously, these boys were in my home for about two and a half hours and not one tear was shed, not one fit was thrown, and not one voice was raised! Don't worry, I don't expect all my subjects to be so agreeable--where would be the challenge in that. My own girls are the most challenging of all! This family is getting ready to make a huge life change and move to Boston where the dad will be attending graduate school. I am so glad I had the chance to capture them in portraits before the big move! Here are a few of my favorites:

On a side note, the basement studio is oh so close to being finished! They will be grouting the tile on the floor tomorrow and the electrician will then finish up the lighting and outlets. Hopefully, I'll have my first session down there at the end of next week. I am beyond excited--and so is my husband since my pregnancy has designated him the person to carry all the equipment up from the basement for my photo shoots! I'll be sure to post some pictures of the finished product.

Finally, be on the lookout for a photo contest on the blog soon. I have a couple of sessions this weekend that I want to have a chance to include in the contest. You will be voting on your favorite shot so far this year and the winner will receive something great--stay tuned for details!

  1. Julie, Thanks so much for the wonderful comments on my sweet boys! I am a lucky mom, but they do cry like all children do! I love your work and have the new pictures all over my new place in Boston. They make it feel like home!!
